Good, ready and healthy since 1976
Our company produces pasta, dry and fresh, and frozen ready meals with one goal: to carry on the tradition without compromise.
Our story starts from afar, with the small typical Apulian pasta laboratory, opened in 1976 by Donato Sabatelli, to reach the 4,000 square meters of the modern production plant managed by green energy photovoltaic systems. A story made of commitment and sacrifices, characterized by respect for raw materials and the environment and the choice to use a single natural preservative: cold!
After the approval of the Italian public, which flocks to the shop in Castellana Grotte, since 1998 we have begun to trade outside the country: first Australia and then a series of American airlines that require Sabatelli frozen pasta to make ready-to-serve meals. border on intercontinental routes.

1976
Donato Sabatelli, at just
22 years of age, founded
a small fresh hand-made pasta workshop. He started producing and selling fresh pasta formats of the Apulian cuisine, including handmade Orecchiette.

1984
New needs generate new perspectives: to guarantee the same product quality in such a growing market, Donato Sabatelli decides to introduce the use of the sole natural preservative used by our company: cold.

1992
Thanks to the freezing technology, the range of products is increased: Sabatelli begins to pre-cook the layers of lasagna by means of an automated line totally designed by the founder.

1998
Australia calls us! Sabatelli start collecting the first foreign flag. The first product from the Apulian company to be shipped beyond the Italian borders is actually the pre- cooked lasagna.

2005
An American airline company demands for Sabatelli frozen pasta to make ready-to-serve meals on board during intercontinental routes. This is the beginning of the venture as a catering service provider for airlines.

2008
The new production plant.
The range of products sold to air catering services is growing, numbering over 20 references between business, first and economy class, on yearly basis, for the in-flight catering services of the largest airlines in the world.

2015
It’s sowing time! The growing of wheat from an ancient strain is started up, indeed it is typical of the area, the Plain of Tavoliere in the north of the Apulia region.

2009
Michele and Mattia follow and support their father into the business! Michele, as production manager; Mattia, being a food technologist, is in charge of the product food safety and quality control.

2019
The plant is enlarged, and a twin plant is established next to the first. Sabatelli boosts and even doubles productions up to 500 pallet seats at – 25°C.

2020
Sabatelli enhances development in foreign markets and implements its presence in international retailers.
